RE-CAP: Tricks R4 Chicks
April 21, 2010 | Tricks R4 Chicks
The ladies over at Rugged Riders threw one hell of a bash on Feb 27/28th at the Forbidden Plateau on Vancouver Island and here is their story. Sounded like a blast.
As the Olympics were going on across the ocean, 10 of the most amazing girls gathered to learn some shred and yoga skills. Although there was no competition, the girls seemed to motivate each other to learn new jumps and postures.
The weekend kicked off with a hand-out of goodies from some very generous sponsors. All the girls received; Power Balance bracelets, Guyaki power drinks, Roxy yoga mats, O’Neill t-shirts and hoodies, a WHOLE whack of gear from Dakine, SBC magazines, Vega protein bars, Manitoba Harvest Hemp seeds and hemp beverage, and One Ball Jay eco wax.
Check out the rest of the post after the jump.
The morning came quick and we found ourselves together on our mats rising with the sun. We stretched and practiced a Moksha Inspired class then enjoyed a nice protein packed breakfast before hitting the mountain. We met up with the Jump Camp sleds early in the morning to hit the backcountry. Mother nature enveloped us in and the visibility was poor but that didn’t stop us from having fun! We stayed around the natural terrain park and sessioned different features. Kaitlyn one of the campers went from hugging the hip to trying her 3′s! AMAZING progression!! The evening was full of yoga, hot tubs, video feedback, MORE goodies, and yummy organic vegan food including black bean brownies.
10 sore but well worked ladies made their way down to the yoga studio for a quieter yin practice to iron out the kinks and stretch any sore muscles. One of the coaches brought their laptop and we even got to catch parts of the Gold medal hockey game. Way to go Canada!!
The weekend was jammed packed with so much fun, great food and amazing progression. Watch out Russia 2014!
